Turn a rakeback percentage into a real figure for your own volume.
Most operators calculate rakeback on the theoretical house edge your wagering generates, not on turnover. A "15% rakeback" on a 2.70% game therefore returns about 0.4% of turnover — real money, but not the number people assume.
A match bonus comes with wagering requirements that usually cost more than the bonus is worth. Rakeback does not: it returns a slice of the house edge you generate, normally as withdrawable cash, with no turnover attached.
It cannot make roulette profitable — a 15% rakeback on a 2.70% game leaves you facing an effective 2.30% edge — but it is a genuine reduction, and it applies to every spin rather than to a one-off deposit.
This is where operators differ most. Most calculate rakeback on the theoretical house edge your wagering generates. A few calculate it on turnover, which is vastly more generous and usually comes with a much smaller percentage. The toggle in this calculator lets you compare the two — the difference is often 10x.
$10 a spin, 50 spins an hour, 20 hours a month is $10,000 of monthly turnover. On a European wheel that generates $270 of theoretical house edge. Fifteen per cent rakeback on that basis returns $40.50 a month and lowers your effective edge from 2.70% to about 2.30%.
On the rarer turnover basis, 15% of $10,000 would be $1,500 — which is why operators who calculate on turnover quote percentages like 0.5%, not 15%. Always check which basis an offer uses before comparing two rates.

For a roulette-first player the left column wins almost every time, which is why our promo code table is ordered the way it is.

For roulette players, almost always. Roulette is usually weighted at 10% toward bonus wagering, which makes match bonuses impractical. Rakeback applies at full weight and is normally withdrawable cash.
Only if the rate exceeds 100% of the house edge generated, which no operator offers. It reduces the cost; it does not reverse it.
