Daniel spent six years on the floor of two licensed European casinos — first as a roulette dealer, later as a pit supervisor — before moving into writing full time in 2019. That background is the reason this site argues so stubbornly about house edge: he has watched, from the inside of the wheel, exactly how a 2.70% margin turns into a monthly P&L line.
He writes the maths-heavy material here — the odds tables, the house-edge comparisons, the strategy simulators — and he is the person who codes the demo wheels you can play on every game page. If a number appears on Roulette Wheel, Daniel has recalculated it by hand at least once and then re-checked it against a million-spin Monte Carlo run.
His editorial position is blunt and unpopular in this industry: no betting system beats a negative-expectation game, roulette is entertainment with a known price tag, and anyone who sells you a 'guaranteed' progression is selling you arithmetic that has already failed.

Editorial standards
Every page Daniel Voss publishes carries a byline and a last-updated date. Figures are recalculated rather than copied from other sites, and corrections are made in place with the date changed. Commercial relationships with operators never influence a rating — our scoring method is published in full, and our affiliate disclosure explains how the site is funded.
How Daniel Voss works
Every number published under this byline is derived from first principles before it appears. House edge figures come from the pocket count and the paytable, not from another site; probability tables are computed rather than copied; and anything describing long-run behaviour is checked against a Monte Carlo run of at least a million spins before publication.
The simulators are written specifically so that claims can be tested rather than believed. The strategy simulator exists because arguing with people about Martingale in prose does not work; showing them five thousand sessions of their own does. The same principle produced the wheel simulator, which is the fastest way to demonstrate that hot numbers carry no information.
Where a historical claim appears — the Blancs removing the double zero, Jagger's biased wheel at Monte Carlo — it is included because it explains something about the game's structure, not as colour. Where a claim cannot be supported, it does not appear.
Contact and corrections
Daniel Voss answers editorial mail directly at editors@roulettewheel.io. If a figure or a claim on any page below is wrong, say which page and what you believe is incorrect. Corrections are made in place, the updated date on the page changes, and where the error was material we note what changed rather than editing quietly.
