Mini Roulette — free demo
Thirteen pockets, straight bets pay 11:1. High edge unless half-back applies. $1,000 play money, no account, no download.
Swipe the layout sideways on a phone to reach every bet.
Mini roulette strips the wheel down to thirteen pockets: zero plus one to twelve. Spins are fast and the layout is simple, but the payout structure has not been adjusted generously enough, leaving a 7.69% house edge — unless the table refunds half on zero.
Thirteen pockets and an awkward payout
Mini roulette uses zero through twelve. A straight-up bet pays 11 to 1 against true odds of 12 to 1, which gives a house edge of 1/13 = 7.69% — higher than American roulette.
Some implementations soften this with a half-back rule on zero, which drops the even-money edge to about 3.85%. Check the paytable before playing: the difference between the two versions is larger than the difference between European and American roulette.
Why it feels faster
With thirteen pockets rather than thirty-seven, every bet hits more often. Red covers six of thirteen numbers — a 46% chance versus 48.6% on a European wheel — so the rhythm of small wins is similar while the underlying cost is nearly three times higher. That contrast is exactly why hit frequency is a bad way to judge a game.
Who it suits
Players who want short, punchy sessions and are happy paying a premium for pace. If you are playing for volume, or planning to be at the table for an hour, the edge difference compounds quickly and a single-zero wheel is the better choice.
Why thirteen pockets costs more
A fair payout on a 13-pocket wheel would be 12 to 1. Mini roulette pays 11 to 1. One missing unit out of thirteen is 7.69% — nearly three times the European edge, and worse than the double-zero American wheel.
The shrunken wheel looks friendlier because every bet hits more often. Red covers six of thirteen numbers, a 46% chance, against 48.6% on a European wheel. The hit rate is almost identical; the price is triple.
The half-back version is a different game
Some mini roulette implementations refund half of an even-money stake when zero lands, exactly like La Partage. That halves the even-money edge to about 3.85% — still worse than European roulette, but no longer in the same category as the version without it.
The two versions are often listed under identical names in a lobby. Check the paytable. The difference between them is bigger than the difference between European and American roulette.
Who mini roulette is actually for
Short sessions where pace matters more than price. Thirteen pockets mean fast rounds, frequent hits and a simple layout, which makes it a reasonable place to learn how betting on a wheel feels.
It is a poor choice for volume. At $5 a spin and 60 spins an hour, mini roulette costs about $23 an hour against $6.75 on a European wheel. If you plan to sit for more than half an hour, the single-zero table is the cheaper entertainment by a wide margin.
Demo play versus real money
Two things change when money is involved, and neither of them is the maths.
The first is pace. On a demo table you can spin as fast as you can click. At a live table the dealer sets the rhythm, and at an RNG table the software does. Faster play means more turnover per hour, and turnover multiplied by the house edge is your cost.
The second is how losses feel. A $200 drawdown in play money is a number; the same drawdown in real money changes decisions. Most of the damage done at roulette tables is done in the twenty minutes after a bad run, not during it. If you are using this demo to test an idea, test what you would do after eight losses in a row — that is the part that matters.
Bankroll, in plain numbers
The formula worth memorising is short: expected cost = average bet × spins per hour × house edge. Everything else is detail.
For even-money betting, hold at least 100 times your average bet before you sit down, and 250 or more if you bet straight up. Below about 20 units, ordinary variance will end the session long before the house edge does — and that outcome usually gets blamed on a “cold table” rather than on the bankroll being too small for the stake.
Our bankroll calculator turns those numbers into hours for your own stake, and the strategy simulator will show you the distribution of outcomes rather than just the average.
How this demo generates results
Each spin draws a pocket uniformly from the wheel using your browser's cryptographic random number generator. There is no weighting, no near-miss logic and no adjustment based on how you are doing. Previous spins have no influence on the next one — the generator keeps no state between draws.
Payouts follow the standard paytable shown on this page, including the variant-specific rules: La Partage on French tables, lightning multipliers where they apply, and two-ball settlement on Double Ball. Balances are play money, reset whenever you like, and nothing is stored on a server.

Mini Roulette FAQ
Is this Mini Roulette demo free?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with a $1,000 play-money balance, requires no account and has no cash value. You can reset the balance as often as you like.
What is the house edge on Mini Roulette?
7.69% (3.85% with half-back). Over a long session that is the percentage of everything you stake that the game keeps, regardless of which bets you choose.
Does the demo use the same odds as a real casino?
Yes. Pockets are drawn uniformly and payouts match the standard paytable shown on this page. What a real table adds is real money, a dealer or provider RNG certification, and table limits.
Can I win money on this demo?
No. There is no deposit, no withdrawal and no prize of any kind. It is a learning and testing tool. If you want to play for real money, the casinos listed further down this page offer Mini Roulette or a close equivalent.
